Component Version MPT Firmware 00.10.49.00 SASBIOS 06.12.02.00 MPTUtil 01.04.04.00 2.0 Performing the Firmware Flash ================================== Web pack: -------- Download 1. Click "Download Now", to download the file. 2. When the File Download window appears, click "Save" this program to disk and click "OK". The Save As: window appears. 3. From the Save As: field, click the down arrow then click to select Desktop and click Save. The file will download to your desktop. 4. If the Download Complete window appears, click "Close". The file icon appears on your desktop. Hard Drive Floppy Disk Creation 1. Get 1 blank, formatted floppy disk. 2. Double-click the new icon (it looks like a floppy diskette) on the desktop. The Self-Extractor window appears. 3. Click "Setup". A black MS-DOS window appears with a message indicating that you need 1 floppy diskette. 4. Press the [ENTER] key. A message appears prompting you to insert a blank floppy diskette. 5. Insert a floppy disk into the floppy disk drive. 6. Press the [ENTER] key. A message appears indicating that all data on the disk will be erased. 7. Press the [y] key and then press the [ENTER] key. The files are copied to the floppy diskette. If the procedure requires more than one diskette, repeat steps 5 – 7 until you reach the end of the diskette set. 8. After all the files have been copied to the last floppy disk, press the [ENTER] key and the MS-DOS window closes. Installation 1. Insert the first (or the only) disk of the set into the Floppy drive. 2. Click "Start", click "Shutdown", click "Restart", and then click "OK". 3. Follow the on-screen instructions. Zip pack: --------- NOTE : Zip packs are only capable of flashing a single SAS5/E controller by using the batch file. To flash multiple controllers, please use the Webpack or Update Packages. Download 1. Click the "Download Now" link to download the file. 2. When the File Download window appears, click "Save" to save the file to your hard drive. Extract Files 1. Browse to the location where you downloaded the file and double-click the new file to unzip the download package 2. Click "Continue". 3. Specify the location to unzip the files. 4. Click on the "OK" button to extract files. After the files are extracted the message all files were successfully unzipped will appear. 5. Click the "OK" button to exit from the installer. Installation 1. Copy extracted files to bootable media. 2. Reboot system to bootable media. 3. Execute the batch file as described in readme.txt to perform flash. 4. After flash is complete, remove bootable media. 5. Reboot system for changes to take effect. Read over the release information presented by executing the "./FRMW_LX_RXXXXXX.BIN --version" command from the shell. 2. Download and install any prerequisites identified in the above step before proceeding. 3. Run the update by executing "./FRMW_LX_RXXXXXX.BIN" from the shell. 4. Disabled verify support for SATA drives since bad block remapping is not supported on SATA 4. Fixed issue where I/O timeouts can occur during a period of very high I/O activity when one of the targets of this activity goes missing and the Device Missing Delay feature is enabled. 2. Fixed issue where Task Management was incorrectly removing devices when any target reset was performed. 3. Fixed issue where pulling and inserting drives may cause Fault 7202 in Windows Event log when a Direct Attach SEP device is attached to the controller. 4. Fixed issue where W2k3 enumerates the devices, after sending an Inquiry command, it then erroneously sends an Inquiry command with the EVPD bit set to the SEP device. However, the SATA-II SEP devices do not support the EVPD option. The Inquriy with EVPD bit results in a Check-Condition and the Windows driver would notice the LogInfo and then create an entry in the Windows Event Log. This event log message has been supressed 5.
