I. Why to apply this DRAC Patch

This patch fixes an issue of, Graphics mode console redirection does not work with CERC controller. On PV745N systems with CERC SATA1.5/6ch Controller, the DRAC console redirection feature does not work in graphics mode with NAS OS version 3.4.9.2 builds 1055 and 1056. The console redirection window becomes GREY and the message "Warning: Remote console is not available" is displayed in the status bar.
Also this patch has fix for, “Graceful Server Shutdown" and "Graceful Server Restart" options under Server Reset Options are always grayed out, regardless of the state of the system.

II. Requirements/Limitations

PowerVault Systems: PV745N (H/W Raid)
Operating System: Windows Server 2003
Dell DRAC Patch: Ver A00, R142400


* This patch applies to, if your NAS system is a PV745N (H/W RAID) having CERC SATA 1.5/6ch controller and DRAC controller installed.

2.  Fixed: The "Graceful Server Shutdown" and "Graceful Server Restart" options under Server Reset Options are always grayed out, regardless of the 	state of the system.

V. Installing DRAC Patch
----------------------------------------------

Steps to download and install Drac Patch:


Step 1.  From the support.dell.com site, locate this DRAC patch and click the "Download Now" link to download the file R142400.exe

Step 2.  If the Export Compliance Disclaimer window appears, Read the agreement and click the "I agree" link to accept.

Step 3.  When the File Download window appears, click "Save" to save the file to your hard drive.

Step 4.  Double click the executable, R142400.exe, to extract the file.  

Step 5.  This will automatically extract the files to required location and will install the patch.

Step 6. System Reboot does not required after patch installion.
