The update corrects a known issue reported on Instrumentation Service version 4.5.1. This update supports the following: System: PowerEdge 4400 Operating Systems: Microsoft(R) Windows NT(R) Server Microsoft Windows(R) Server Family (Windows 2000 Server and Windows 2000 Advanced Server) Always see the Dell Support website at support.dell.com for the most current information. ##################################################################### DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM CORRECTED IN THIS UPDATE ##################################################################### This update corrects the following problems in Server Administrator with Instrumentation Service version 4.5.1. --------------------------------------------------------------------- INCORRECT REPORTING OF THIRD POWER SUPPLY EVENTS --------------------------------------------------------------------- When a third power supply does not exist in the system, some Power Supply 3 events are reported incorrectly by the Instrumentation Service. This problem exists only on the PowerEdge 4400 systems. This update corrects this problem. --------------------------------------------------------------------- ECC Thresholds --------------------------------------------------------------------- This update corrects the threshold for ECC memory corrections reporting to be consistent with industry guidelines. This threshold is designed to provide Dell customers with indications of issues in memory due to the number of memory corrections that have been detected. An alarm is logged and sent when this threshold is exceeded. ===================================================================== INSTALLATION OF THE UPDATE PACKAGE ON MANAGED SYSTEMS RUNNING WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEMS ===================================================================== ---------------------------------------- BEFORE INSTALLING THE UPDATE ---------------------------------------- 1. Ensure that Server Administrator version 1.0 with Instrumentation Service version 4.5.1 is installed on the PowerEdge 4400 system. 2. Extract files from the self-extracting zip file, "IS451DWin.exe", to a system running either the Windows 2000 Server Family or Windows NT operating system. ---------------------------------------- INSTALLING THE UPDATE ---------------------------------------- 1. In Windows Explorer, double-click "update.exe" located in the directory where you unzipped the self-extracting zip file. 2. Click "Update" when the update is installed. A completion message box displays. ---------------------------------------- UNINSTALLING THE UPDATE ---------------------------------------- 1. Open "Command Prompt" Windown. 2. Change Directory to "C:\Program Files\Dell\OpenManage\Updates" 3.
