This update supports the following: Systems: PowerEdge 1650, 2600, 2650, 4600, 6600, 6650 Operating Systems: Microsoft(R) Windows NT(R) Server Microsoft Windows(R) Server Family (Windows 2000 Server and Windows 2000 Advanced Server) Always see the Dell Support website at support.dell.com for the most current information. ##################################################################### DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEMS CORRECTED IN THIS UPDATE ##################################################################### This update corrects the following problems in Server Administrator with Instrumentation Service version 4.7.0. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- INCORRECT WARNING THRESHOLDS REPORTED ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Incorrect Instrumentation Sensor threshold values are used when the system installs Instrumentation Service version 4.7.0. The problem caused the generation of erroneous warning events. This update corrects this problem for PowerEdge 1650, 2600, 2650, 4600, 6600, and 6650 systems. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ERRONEOUS REPORTING OF INSTRUMENTATION EVENTS DURING ERA RESETTING ---------------------------------------------------------------------- During ERA resetting, Instrumentation Service reported events incorrectly. This update corrects this problem for PowerEdge 1650, 2600, 2650, 4600, 6600, and 6650 systems with the Remote Access feature installed. ====================================================================== INSTALLATION OF THE UPDATE PACKAGE ON MANAGED SYSTEMS RUNNING WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEMS ====================================================================== ---------------------------------------- BEFORE INSTALLING THE UPDATE ---------------------------------------- 1. Ensure that Server Administrator version 1.2 with Instrumentation Service version 4.7.0 is installed on the PowerEdge system. 2. Extract files from the self-extracting zip file, "IS470BWin.exe", to a system running either the Windows 2000 Server Family or Windows NT operating system. ---------------------------------------- INSTALLING THE UPDATE ---------------------------------------- 1. In Windows Explorer, double-click "update.exe" located in the SAIS470B directory where you unzipped the self-extracting zip file. 2. Click "Update" when the update is installed. A completion message box displays. 3. Shutdown the system. 4. Remove all power cords from the system for 2 minutes. 5. Plug in all power cords and start the system. ---------------------------------------- UNINSTALLING THE UPDATE ---------------------------------------- 1. Open "Command Prompt" Window. 2. Change Directory to "C:\Program Files\Dell\OpenManage\Updates" 3.
